My office
One of the many PLEASURES of being a psychologist is that you always get your own office!!! And you can decorate it any way you want it! I don't have a great knack of decorating but I wanted to personalize the space and make it as comfortable and warm as I could for my clients. So far, they all like it.
What do you think of the "client corner" of my office?

Sabko pasand hai to fir kya...sahi hai! :)
I guess some lights are switched off in the pic?
Background me drapes hain ya wallpaper?
btw m so jealous...i have only this much space :(...that too in beech bazaar!
What's the bowl for? I assume munchies to go with the vodka in the bottle??
Is that allowed to make ur clients talk their hearts out to u?
well is there any ...special corner for persons wid psychological disorder??
the table lamp gives me this kind of feeling :)
hey ur client corner looks very wecoming and warm..
nice colours and its been kept simple too
Ek botal aur do gilaas.. side mein ho ek nachaiya.. bas talli hone ka man kare!
Kya ambience banaya.. wow!
waise lagta hai ki kisi saree ki waat lagai gai hai bg ke liye
can i have the chair?
you don't have crystal ball..!! hehe..the corner looks soothing though.
i just suggest that put a small shack of books! and it will look perfettt!! :)
and u have the luxury, we just have the cubicle!!! :P
Cheers!!!
interesting choice of colors and shapes...it has a warm feeling...just needs a little bit of "comfort" added to it.....
since its about helping others there are two minor suggestions I have - if its OK would like to share....
and how do I redeem the bill?
@ Prakhar,
Yeah there are three lamps in my office. Background mein bedsheet hai which is now a wall sheet!!
Oh don't be jealous. I am sure there are lots of things about your job that you like and i would want to have!
@ tuhin,
Hahahha!! right now, it has miniature candy. They say chocolate does perk one's mood up!
@ Peter,
Haha!! This IS the special corner for everyone, whether or not you have a psychological disorder.
@ Enigma,
Thank you!
@ Vrij,
Hahahahah!!! Belly dancer bhi laa doo?
Its a bedsheet..not a saree!
@ Ghost,
Haha! To take home? NO!!
@ ancient,
No crystal ball. Only a camera recording the present.
@ Ankur,
There is a bookshelf in the "other corner". :)
Thanks!!!
@ Ceedy,
Give me the suggestion and I will take 50 dollars off. If the suggestion includes money to be spent then nothing will be taken off.
Such a cozy place! :)
hmmm...if they b extra good and dont cry much, will they get to take something back home? sell keychains and pens! there u go, i just gave u some extra income idea.
Warm n cozy ..yes! i like the wall-paper n colors u've used.
But will u be using more lights when ur actually in-session with ur client?
Also where will u be sitting during the session?
Due to the colors that you are using, I know it is a very warm place.. Make you feel as if you are your own home.... You will get them to open up quick!!
Shalom
I love the earthy color very calm.... ) mast che Solitaireben !
@ Ghost,
You want my license to be taken away right?
@ Neeku,
Thank you neekuben! Where have you been all these days?
@ Nehya,
Thanks!! :)
I hope they do!
One client called it "cute"!
@ Pavi,
I will probably use one more small lamp in session but definitely nothing more than that. I will be sitting on the chair which you can see while the client will be right opposite me.
Thanks!!!
@ Sameera,
Thanks!!!
looks pretty dark..but its good:)
lol! cant u jst slip the pitch in during sessions, payments can be banked it. or better still, sell the conversation/sessions on e-bay...will make good fun! im smart.
Are you setting the scene for us to now go visit a psychologist? :p
Very serene, me like it!
me likes the background a lottt
very nice place, i'd prolly like to come and sit there even if im not ur client
:) "tasteful"
Looks so warm & inviting. Can I come ?

It requires spending so let it be.

Own office and decorating that.. This is something I would love to do some time in my life. Own office or own small shop :).
Your office looks very warm and calm. No wonder ur clients liked it! I liked the chare too. It’s cute.

Ekdum mast.. Dhinchak.. Wallpaper is cool.. :)
Sorry for the duplicate comment - was trying to fix (d) to (s) and guess both comments were published.
Well just one question - do all patients cry? - if not - isnt it better to hand them the tissues when they do as a gesture...(just a thought)
i am sure some of your clients do visit you to just sit in such a cozy corner with a beautiful doc :-p
aaare wwah
dats nice soly
Sol this looks more like a romantic table setting for two :P
is the room usually this dimly lit? ... reminds me of a tarot card reader's booth or a fortune teller's office !!
umm... this makes me wanna visit! :D
@ Metrosexual,
Are you kidding me? My jaw dropped when I read that comment!!!
I actually had to check and no its not that. Its a MADISON something!
@ Urv,
Wallpaper is a bedsheet. :)
Hi Solitaire!
It looks cozy enough... ;)
I’ll finally get some days off this year; not much, just from Friday night (September 5th) through Monday morning (September 15th). But I don’t leave you empty hands: a beautiful beach and lots of champagne wait for you at Blogtrotter. Enjoy!
haha! I couldn't help but notice it held a striking resemblance to mine which was right in front of me when I saw this.
@ Vaudevillian,
It does? I wanna see a picture of yours too!
@ GMG,
Thanks!! Will come around soon!
@ Rayshma,
Then do so! Its long overdue. :)
@ Nik,
Haha! Usually dimly light when I am by myself in the room..more lamps on when the client is in there.
@ SMM.
Haha! Not anymore..Now it has business cards and pamphlets and what-nots on the table.
@Joie,
thanks!
@ Hiren,
Haha!! Thanks!! A lot many people have told me that...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
@ Ceedy,
SOME patients cry. Not all.
I did not understand that tissue statement. Can you explain?
@ La vida,
Wil do..Sorry have been swamped!
@ Iceman,
Haha! What do you think?
@ Prachi,
Thanks!!! :)
This is the first time I decorated and loved it!
@ Anwesa,
Thanks! Is that good or bad?
@ Keshi,
Thanks!!
@ CG,
Thanks!!
@ Ash89,
Thanks!! It is for clients your age. I am glad you liked it.
@ monika,
sure thing!! Come over.
@ Vandita,
What's stopping you? come!!
@ Still thinking,
Maybe...are you thinking of going to one?
@ Broca,
Yeah..I know...but will have more lamps on in session. Vaise bhi I don't have to do a physical examination like you doctor saab. :p
Well since only SOME do - my point is isn't it better for you to hand the napkins to the SOME who do cry...rather than they sitting there for everyone...since it is your personal space....
@ Ceedy,
Are tissues only used for people who cry? I can write an essay long comment here regarding why the tissues are there but will refrain from doing so.
Looks like a Crystal maze mantle and a gypsy just about coming with her tarot card set and spells book;)
No I dont want to be enlightened on Tissue Issues as it seems irrelevant in this case.
@ Ceedy,
Precisely my point. I wonder why you brought it up in the first place.
@ Chaggoholic,
Haha! that's my secret profession.
Well I guess it got sidetracked...my initial thought was the look of the container...of the tissues did not go well with what you had created...and so was asking you if it is necessary to have it up on the table...and if yes then maybe you cld buy a maroon or beige tissue dispenser...(but then that was spending money)
makes sense?
@ Ceedy,
***It requires spending so let it be
to
***Well just one question - do all patients cry?
to
***then maybe you cld buy a maroon or beige tissue dispenser
The chain of events do not really make sense.Should they have? Your last comment, does though.
So all's well that ends well, I guess (if it has ended here).
Yes the chain of events did not have a connection...so summarized in the last comment...
It is all well and it does end here
I like the colors in a way.... however, i m a pastels person and would find the reds a little intimidating.. on a good day, this is great, but on a bad day when i need talking, this isnt my best first day getup for a room.. but then again, u r there to put ppl at ease methinks :-)
I'm considering :(
The thinking ain't helping :)
luks gud!! :)
how r u doing? tried accessing calm frnzies but cudn't get through.. restricted now??
Looks good...I already feel like telling you all my deep dark secrets

3...2...1.....sleep now and then awaken from the inside :)
Cheers!!
I'll keep coming back for more!
hi, Congratulation on ur new office. This is the first time I am writin u a comment however I am a regular reader of all ur posts. and amongst tht my fav is Calm frenzies which u hav restricted :(.
ny how I jus need lil bit of ur help, I am grad a student,nd I am doin fairly well wid my studies, but the prblm is I hav attention deficient prblm (ADHD) minus hayperactivity...I am unable to conc in my lec, I strt thinkin abt sumthin else...I dont know y...e1 if I try hard for sumtime I cn conc. bt after a while I strt thinkin abt sumthin else nd deviate frm the topic...cn u help me in gettin bck my conc....cn u gimme ur email id?? hopin to hear frm u soon....:)
its so prettyyyy!!
Let me start with what i like from a laymans point of view...
# The chair is ok...not very cushy cushy nor very hard..would accomodate all sizes of "tashreefs"
Is low level..i guess that wd help the cleint to look at you at eye level..instead of looking down up(on) you.. :)
#The lighting structural form is good..basic..with a good mix of glass ..metal...and wattage
#I am sure the highlight would be you..among all ..
What i found bad..no lets call it amusing....
# The background ...is trying hard to go ethnic...is actually distracting...i find only a little warmth in it...in fact i find myself trapped in those sqaures and polygons...i guess the client comes to a psycho to free him/her self..
The table cloth.....plzzzzzz dump them right away..else just leave it topless ..i am sure the table top wd have its own wooden character..and those ironed creased lines...never do that...
what are those terracota things doing on the table...why are they empty..why are they their in the first place..why cant u go minimalistic...
The plant does nt gel with the atmosphere at allllllllll.
Sorry ..honest opinions...the place looks like a makeshift FBI confession room .
On second thoughts..may be i wd have liked it in person...bcoz i beleive a place is just a three dimensional coordinate..it can be tamed...by the human dimension..with life...i am sure yr presence fills those missing dimensions...and make the corner worth visiting..
Though i wdnt like to visit a psycho..anytime soon..:)
its colorful -> yes, its vibrant -> yes.. but the usage of "client corner"?? ter maybe people who just think that they are not loved or not getting enuf attention and people who are scared of lonliness, people who need re-assurance.. how could a "corner" justify their needs? maybe you could do more things to make them feel like one among the crowd!
client cornerrr ???
No way i believe it..
looks more of a cozy little reading room...
Ek appointment milega kya... ;)
Cheers..!!
